A Paleogeographic map shows ancient areas where different types of creatures lived, and they help scientists reconstruct the environment.
 
In this exercise, the students construct a Paleogeographic map of South America using a key that contains imaginary creatures that live in distinct environments. They end up creating a colored map which shows areas of Deep and Shallow Marine, Land Near Shore, Mountains, Near Shore, and Desert. Six questions regarding the map and Paleogeography follow.
