Ain't it Grand!

Grand Teton is a prominent mountain in the Teton Range, located in northwestern Wyoming, United States. It is the highest peak in the Teton Range and the second-highest in the state of Wyoming, after Gannett Peak. The mountain is part of Grand Teton National Park, which also encompasses the surrounding Teton Range and Jackson Hole Valley.

The Grand Teton and the Teton Range, in general, have a geological history spanning millions of years. The major geological events leading to the formation of the Teton Range occurred during the Laramide Orogeny, a period of mountain-building in the Late Cretaceous and early Cenozoic eras. This occurred roughly 40 to 70 million years ago.
